Heritage
Parallel Studios specializes in the conservation and restoration of historic architectural elements, with particular depth in stained and leaded glass, historic windows, and associated woodwork. Our work spans residential, commercial, ecclesiastical, and civic buildings, and is grounded in careful study, appropriate materials, and respect for original construction and intent. Projects are carried out in collaboration with a trusted network of supporting trades, engineers, and consultants, allowing conservation and restoration work to be approached in a coordinated and considered way.
Our conservation and restoration work includes:
Heritage consultation, condition assessment, documentation, and conservation planning
Conservation and restoration of stained and leaded glass, including removal, repair, re-leading, stabilization, and reinstallation
Restoration of historic wood windows, sash, frames, and related millwork, including accurate replication and repair.
Coordination of associated building fabric, including stonework, structural review, scaffolding, and access planning.
Tristan Adams has worked as a glazier and conservator on heritage projects for over two decades, including the Canadian Parliament Centre Block Rehabilitation Project, where he served as a senior conservator. This experience informs the studio’s conservation and restoration practice, emphasizing methodical processes, material understanding, and long-term stewardship.
Our team applies this same level of care and technical rigor to each project, tailoring conservation and restoration strategies to the specific conditions and requirements of each building.
Parallel Studios was recognized with a 2025 Frontenac Heritage Foundation Award for excellence in heritage conservation.
